I was having a conversation with a friend the other day, and she was adamant that after 40 natural conception is very rare, almost impossible. And yet I know at least 3 women who conceived at a much older age. One was 45 at the time of conception and the other 2 were 43.
Do you have any stories to share?

A friend conceived naturally at 46 without even trying. It is possible just less likely.

I was 42 when I concieved my 2nd child and know countless number of people over 40 concieve naturally. Your friend is talking rubbish!

i know many women who have had children in their 40's, my friends mum was 48 when she had her, what was called a change of life baby.

I know 2 women who had 'surprise' pregnancies at age 45 and 46 when they thought they were menopausal and couldn't! One had just had a mastectomy and chemo and thought the nausea was from that -but was 3 months pregnant. They both had healthy babies.

What nonsense! You CAN conceive until you reach menopause, it's as simple as that!! Sure, it's not so "easy" to get pregnant past a certain age, but you absolutely can!!
Where did your friend get this from, the same place teenagers get the info that you can't get pregnant the first time you have sex??? She's very funny!!
Maybe she also thinks baby girls are born in roses and baby boys in cabbages??

If you started your periods late.. ur menoposale stage will also be late.. u can conceive in your 40's... well thats what i have heard. Guess it all depends on each woman's body cycle :)
My mom concieve her third child when she was 42. And guess what, she went on for a normal delivery! It was amazing.. I was 11 years old that time and didn't expect to have a younger sis at home :P My sis is now in college and she is healthy and great!!! God's Blessings are really amazing :)

I had my first child 44 years old. I have a very healthy 2 year old baby girl. I concievied very easily. Now trying for number 2 at 46 years old and is taking a lot longer.

I had my first child at 42 and conceived naturally. I often feel that it may be once you have your first and then having loved the experience you wish so much for a second so it seems more difficult because more conscious of the need to have another baby. Whatever the reason is, I love to hear these wonderful stories about people having their children after 40. I know there are so many ladies out there in late 30s, early 40s wishing for a baby and I always say, its never too late. It really does come down to how you feel yourself i.e. there are young 40+ and old 40+! Best wishes to all those ladies trying.
