IVF recommendations in HK?

ORIGINAL POST

I started IVF with Sydney IVF before we moved to HK.

We had an unsuccessful cycle in Sydney, but I still have a frozen embryo which can be sent to HK to have the transfer done here.

Does anyone have any recommendations on good IVF doctors here?

Also, if we are not successful with that cycle, what is the quality of IVF like in HK? Any recommendations? I would be willing to fly back to Sydney IVF if I had to, as I've heard they are the best.

But willing to do the cycles in HK if the quality and chances are good.

Love to hear anyone's experience, thanks :)

Hi,

IVF in Hong Kong can be expensive as it's not covered by any insurance. You are looking at at least HK$80,000 for an IVF cycle. IVF in Sydney should be covered partially by Medicare and private insurance as well if you have it.

I had my IVF done in Sydney 10 years ago but things have changed in Hong Kong with more successes over the past couple of years. There are many obstetricians now offering IVF. Success rates are not very transparent here though ... unlike Sydney. Also I'm not sure if any local gyn/ob would be willing to accept implantation of a frozen embryo from Sydney though - you'd need to check them one by one (I think)

Good luck!
