hi gerald

i have had some experience with the private hospitals here (once had a 12 day stay at one of them) and was very impressed wtih the quality of service and lifesaving expertise. i have had other friends here who have had burst appendixes and other medical issues.

i found facilities good, the physicians excellent, and the only downside was the cost of the care.

i had a planned hospital stay with the birth of our child, and it was excellent. we paid for it ourselves, and it was steep, but i have no complaints.

the moderators of this forum surely must understand that being an advertiser does not pay for only good things being said about them. your question is legitimage. my answer to it is that the emergency facilities in the private hospitals that i know of are very good.

Dear Gerald,

Actually I do have the responsibility and the try me was an invitation - no explanation mark. I did not receive any calls but I did take it seriously and looked into the quesionaire mentioned. I would like to openly apologies that the questionaire was not received promptly and that the cable television was not functioning. The maintenance staff placed an order imediately, however cable are notoriously bad at responding and we want to stop the contract, which may infact cause us more complaints. I believe that during the first couple of days of stay the lady was upgraded from a standard to twin room and when moved to the original room status the furnishings and fittings were not to the same level.

A full apology was given by my staff and procedures reviewed to make improvements. Orignally I prefered to keep this confidential and not discuss openly however it now seems that things need clarifying.

Regarding the site - as I have written to the editor previously we do not mind constructive critism as we strive for improvement. Actually we were invited to be here to answer enquires.

I would however like to thank the same person for the positive comments on our nursing staff and keep perspective with the safe arrival of baby. I hope that baby is settling down well and that the family is enjoying getting to know their new member.

If there is anything further I am still willing to discuss and take the opportunity to make improvements to our services.

We have indeed invited Matilda Hospital to respond to questions on the medical, fertility and moms/dads forums and appreciate their very thorough answers. It is our policy to involve as many experts as possible on the various forums as they add tremendously by placing qualified answers to the questions.

As for negative comments, it doesnt matter if they involve a sponsor - if any company is discussed in a negative context then it comes off the site. Two reasons: 1. we dont know if a complaint is valid - it could be an unscrupulous competitor making false accusations. 2. If we publish libelous comments we are exposed to legal action.
