Just thinking ahead, have 2 more months of pregnancy to go. What is the most effective way of dropping wt gained during pregnancy? Apart from nursing which kind of exercise, diet is most effective. thanks

I had my first baby - gained 19 lbs and lost 29 after birth -
you're not supposed to exercise immediately after giving birth - I think the recommended window is about 8 weeks. But fit pregnancy and other magazines and some excellent exercises for post partum - mostly to help your stomach and nether regions tighten. Also - a lot of the asian women use this girdle type corset after birth - it's avaialable in Sogo - on the pregnancy floor - can't remember the name of it - but there is a small lingerie section that sells these things to help your stomach go in. It also helps control your appetite a bit as well as support your back.
breast feeding, regular well balanced meals, and post partum exercise - if you're healthy about your food you should lose the weight immediately. You don't need to eat THAT much in order to - produce milk. The Koreans eat seaweed soup (I ate it for 8 months) which supposedly has idiodine and other nutrients to help you lose the weight.
ALSO - pointer - right after birth, lots of prunes. You'll be massively constipated - and the pile of stuff in your stomach can make you feel heavy as well.
good luck.

I tried the girdle things for 3 weeks & it seemed to help a bit. It's good to use for the first few weeks as you won't be able to exercise. You have nothing to lose.
Don't think it helps to support my back.
Now that my baby is 5 weeks old, I start doing yoga again. I gained 34 pounds & now I need to get rid of 10 lbs to go back to my original weight. Someone from the previous post said one should start only 8 weeks after birth? Do I start exercies too early?

I lost all my pregnancy weight 3 months after my baby was born. I wore the girdle for about 6 weeks and breastfed. But after 6 weeks, I dieted and my milk tapered off. I stopped feeding about 10 weeks after she was born because my milk was not enough. At the same time, I went to a beauty spa and did their M6 machines religiously (2-3 times a week). It got rid of all my fat but I was still quite loose. But I had lost all my pregnancy weight (38lbs) At three months, I hit the gym working with a trainer on weights and cardio. My baby is 4 months old now and I'm fitter than pre-prego. Good Luck!
