Ectually, I found the clinic # in the YP.
Just talked to them. they said that it costs around 80,000 HK$......! is their a cheaper way of doing it???

I would recommend Prof Haines at the Prince of Wales hospital in Shatin. Typical IVF cost per cycle is approx HKD43K. Tel no is 2632 2704/2632 3148

I am totally agree with asking as the POW hospital is Public hospital so thay charge less but if you will go to any other private dr the cost will br from HKD70K to 80K
and for chinea medicine and acupt you can consult Troy if you need more detail there are two threads you can read then, as I am also consulting Troy for chinea medicine & acupt, if you need more information do let me know

Hi is very busy you have to book appointment before going there if you are not working time is no problem then no problem. But if you are working than you have to contact me early. According to him it takes 2-3 month for actp & Chines medicines to work. I usually go d1 to d5 during my cycle and than around my ovulation day. Per session costs you HKD 580 for acpt & apprx 150-200 for herbs. You can buy package also ten sessions cost is HKD500 each and if you buy 5 session it cost you hkd530

What I don't understand is how can one pay so much money for each IVF? Do you know about an insurance that covers (even partly)the treatment? Or other way to "save" some of the money?

There is no insurance in HK which covers infertility treatment as per my knowledge the only way to save money is to go for IVF in Pulic Hospital as asking has already explained it

The other option is to go to the public hospital and get your name down on the waiting list for the free cycle. You have to be a HK ID holder and be married. We went private but still signed up for the free cycle - just in case. Its worth doing because you just dont know how long it will take and before you know it the waiting time for the free one might be closer than you think. If I remember rightly the waiting time is about 12-18 months.

Elza - we had our name put on the list at the Prince of Wales hospital. I think any public hospital will do the same if they do ivf treatment. The service is offered by the government health services.

I didn't got you point you means as I am working with Troy. NO I am also consulting him and really have improvements in my cycles.and VVV had done acupt with him and she conceived during her first cycle. But as for me this month will be my fourth cycle but still no luck. As mine is unexplained infertility every thing is perfect with me but still not getting pregnant.

Yes I did 2failed IUI in March & April With Dr. Doo and did all tests, every thing is perfect my both tubes are open. My husban had little motality proble but that was ok after one month medication his sperm cout is more that 100 ml with good motality. Mine is unexplained case. Will go this cycle to Western Dr. The present cycle would be my fourth cycle but I had improved with my ovulation etc. My periods are less paifull and have very few PMS.

Did someone hear of Prof. Cristopher Haines or Dr. Cheung Lai Ting? they both work at the POW hospital. Who's more recommended? If I want to go to the POW Hospital for IVF (that costs $HK 43k), do I have to "stand in line" or can I start with the IVF immidiately? Thanks!

If you go as a private patient you can go into IVF straight away. Dont know about Dr Cheung but Prof Haines is fantastic. Have been to several Drs in Central but Prof Haines saves you thousands of Dollars and knows exactly what he is doing. However he will make sure everything is ok before he strats IVF which in my opinion is a good thing.

Hi, my husband and I have been seeing a doctor that was highly recommended in HK and on this site. We have completed all the necessary tests and have decided to go with IUI due to his advice. However, everytime we make an appointment to see him, his secrataries have been ringing us constantly to cancel and reschedule. The doctor is so nice, but the admin staff are so incompetent! We're getting very frustrated. I'm supposed to start treatment with the injections this week and can't because they've had to cancel our appointment again! Now we have to wait for another month to get in..... has anyone else had this experience? Do you think we should persevere or just change doctors? any recommendations?

You are paying for and should EXPECT good customer service. I get really p1ssed off at these "experts" who think they are so indispensible that they can treat their clients like sh1t. These are peoples LIVES they are playing with. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Let me tell you about my TCM practitioner. She put me on some herbs for 9 days and said to come back the day I ovulate (or day before) to change the herbs and do another accupuncture session to help the embryo "stick". Since she's only there on certain days I asked her what if I ovulate earlier than the day 16 I thought I did. She said, well then, here's my mobile, and I will come in especially to do this for you. So in fact, I likely will be ovulating tomorrow or day after - I called her and told her, and she promptly changed my thursday appointment and told me to come tomorrow morning first thing -she's going in especially. Now THATS service.

I agree with the others this is a warning of what it could be like throught your treatment if you start with him, you should find another Dr. Infertility is emtional as well as physically demanding but you really ned the support of a good Dr and this guys seems to be adding stree to your situation which you do not need. My Dr also gave me her mob number and she works 6 days bu it was for after hours and i have called her a few times on her mob and she never made me feel bad about it. All the best to you.

I also had a bitter experience I did two IUI and HSG with my first Dr. and spend around HKD45,000.00 in just 3-4 months (Mine is unexplained infertility. The Dr is really good but during my second IUI I was realy frustrated by the admn staff behavior. So I also chaged the DR during my present cycle and he and his staff is wonderfull. The dr was so nice and is the only one who suggest us to go naturally as both of are healthy. Me and my husband were surprised, he is the only one who never try to sell us IUI or IVI knowing that I am so impatient to have baby and can go to any extend. My husband think he is nice because he knows that we had been with other known dr and will compare the both. But whatever the reason I am realy happy

Yes, we did the lifestyle change from January really. The first time I got pregnant was in April, and hubby still smoked. As soon as we knew he stopped, and has stopped ever since. But after reading up some, we realised that smoking damages sperm. Vitamin C is very good and coenzyme q10 has been shown to increase motility. Hubby has never had a problem, but we both have been taking a very good multivitamin and coQ10 for a while now, plus flax seeds etc. I just added the extra Vit C, which he had refused to take before. I stopped the C0Q10 myself before I got pregnant.

They say that there is evidence that taking a good multi-vit before and in early pregnancy results in less sickness... I certainly hope so! Meantime, I am very tired, and the more tired I am the queasier I feel, but it doesnt go beyond queasy. I am also breathless easier. weird!
