Not sure if they do. (We brought our stock from home.) But there are obviously substitute brands/products if you can't find them. I've moved on up to Zantac which lasts longer (at least 8-10 hours)...needed it starting at 8 months when heartburn was just too much for Tums.

I have had IBS and acid reflux, was on nexium for a long time before I decided to come off it with a combination of herbs. Impossible to come off it cold turkey. I need to be very careful about my diet cause acidity kicks in at the least thing. Both times I've been pregnant acidity kicked in right away and I couldn't take my licorice to help.
Zantac is an acid inhibitor, is it not?

I am 6 wks preg and have started to suffer from really bad pains in the lower abs and pelvis area. I found that Actal from Watsons helped in the short term - ie stopping it at night when I need my sleep!
I have always suffered from a weak stomach and get food poisioning/bad stomachs at the drop of a hat.
I just hope that this isnt a peak of what is in store for the next 8 months...Im starting to get scared of eating because I know the pain is just around the corner...

I have heaps of yogurt and avoid fried food like the plague. I also take digestive enzymes after every meal. I stay away from refined food (white bread, luncheon meat, sausages etc) and dont have refined sugars at all.
I also dont have tea or coffee any more. Thats INSTANT acidity right there!! And wine sets if off too, so thats out as well.

• Zantac is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. Zantac is also used to treat conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid and conditions in which acid comes up into the esophagus and causes heartburn, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Who should not take Zantac?
• Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have

· liver disease; or
· porphyria.

Hi firstimemom, nice of you to ask. Yes Im 6 weeks now. We went to see the Prof on Thurs (after getting the apt brought forward due to my worries about the awful stomach pains) and saw the little baked bean in its sac. Its 5mm at the mo and you could see its little heart beating really fast like a light going on and off - truly amazing!
The relief was enormous but still early days...but in the right direction!

RiceT, I hope Zantac doesnt to you do what Nexium did for me. I took Nexium for three years, and couldn't come off it - everytime I tried the accidity and reflux kicked in double the force immediately I stopped. It took me three months a herbal regimen to calm my stomach down (licorice, mastic gum, cats claw, enzymes0 and I'm never going on back on acid suppressants. Will try to order TUMS online if I cant get it here...

Firsttime - I hope not too! I did take it years ago...my allergist had prescribed it for a food allergy. No trouble getting off of it then...took it for over a year. Now I just take it at night...for the past three weeks. Due soon!

Hey Ladies,
As a sufferer of pregnancy heartburn i know how important Tums can be!!.. i am happy to report that you can find tums at a store called gateway. It Sells north american products and reminds me a bit of a very small price club/ sams club. I do have to warn you that they dont always have the same items from week to week. Anyway the tums are by the checkout.

Gateway is across the street...kitty corner, more like it...from Wing on. Put your back to Wing On and look South and a bit East; Gateway is there. It's in the basement. Someone else can probably give you the street names if this doesn't help. :)

firsttimemom, let me know if you found the Tums. If not, I have a brand new bottle, unopened which my mom brought over from the States. It expires Jan 09, its maximum strength in assorted berry flavor. I haven't finished my last bottle of Tums, and my mom is coming again in 2 months. I'm sure she'll bring me more. Message me if you're interested.

firsttime...i believe it's sheung wan technically, but not far from central nonetheless. do you know wing on? i don't think there are two that close to each other...i.e. not one in central and one in sheung wan, right? i could be wrong! don't know.
