very good doctor, takes time to listen to his patients, and explain things. Not cheap. But good service.

Dr Dawkins delivered my second child [I had actually locked into a package with Dr Lucy Lord and had been seeing her for most of my pre-natal consultations - she was on hols when my baby was due - hence Dr Dawkins was referred to me].
Dr Milton Leung delivered my first child.
If you require assistance with fertility (eg IVF treatment, IUI's etc), then I would recommend Dr Milton Leung or Dr Alex Doo (Dr Doo is younger and more 'patient friendly' then Dr Leung.)
If you are already pregnant, then I can highly recommend Dr Dawkins or Dr Lucy Lord. Both of these doctors are very pro-natural birth. My birth experience was much better the second time around. Even though I had another c-section, I felt minimal post-operative pain (unlike my first c-section after which I experienced considerable pain).
Even though I had only one consultation with Dr Dawkins before he delivered my baby (because Dr Lord was on hols), I found him to be very approachable, competent, capable and he has a relaxed manner. I experienced minimal pain after the c-section and was consequently impressed with his pain management and general manner.

Does anyone know what Dr Dawkins fees are? Does he have a package?
I want to compare his costs against other ob/gyn. I hear Dr Choy is HKD48K NOT INC hospital fees!!
I know that the Canossa is about HKD28K for normal birth. Anyone know the other hospital rates/packages?

hi Sydexpat,
can you tell me about your package with Dr Lucy Lord? many thanks!

Hi V
From recollection, Dr Lord has 2 packages. I took up the maternity package whereby all the consultations are with Dr Lord. The other maternity package involves shared care (some visits to GP, some visits to Dr Lord)- obviously this package is cheaper.
The maternity package I signed up for cost HK$29,000. There were lots of exclusions: initial consultation (ie HK$750), blood tests, the fetal anomaly scan at 20 weeks, amniocentisis, post natal hospital visits, medication etc.
In essence, the maternity package I had, covered all consultations with Dr Lord (except the initial consultation)including ultrasound scans (except where scans were performed by Dr Lam at his clinic ie fetal anomaly scan at 20 weeks)plus the delivery (irrespective of whether you have a vaginal delivery or a c-section).
I had my baby only 3 months ago, so the pricing referred to above is fairly recent.
It is probably best to ring Dr Lord's clinic to obtain a copy of the maternity schemes (which set out all the exclusions).
I would highly recommend either Dr Lord or Dr Dawkins. Both are competent and capable.

My wife and I are moving to HK early next year and want to use Dr Dawkins...but we will be 5 months pregnant by then. Will Dr Dawkins still take us...? Does he have special packages?

Thanks for your help Mummy...appreciate it.
We are looking to book in to a private room at the Matilda because our company medical plan covers 100% of the expenses. Was just worried
he would not take us once we were 5 months in...
We will give his assistant Daisy a call.
