I know this question has been asked before but we are being asked to make a decision by our insurance company as to where and how we will have our baby. I would like to have a private room at Matilda and wondered if anyone else has hadan elective csection there and how much it cost,

The hospital charges for a private room for an elective caesarean section is HK$45,500. This should include all you will use during the 5 nights stay of the package but you will need to add your obstetrician, paediatrician and anaesthetist fees.

I had one recently at Matilda and costs were:
HK$45,500 for the private room HK$45,000 for the Obstetrician, $12,500 for the anethetist $12,500 for the peadatrician and around another $10,000 for medications, guests food etc. All up over $125,000.

Pediatrician was Dr Pang and I highly reccomend him though like all Drs - some you click with some you don't - though I haven't met anyone yet who has complained about him. I found him to be very thorough and experienced. Anethetist, I will have to get a copy of the bill as I have forgotten his name but he was really, really good. Made me feel comfortable through the whole thing and when the baby was born everyone was rushing around focusing on it and I started to feel forgotten but he chatted to me and tried to make sure I was told everything that was going on etc and it made me feel soo much better. Quite handsome chap too....
