let's share first signs of pregnancy

With my first pregnancy, I took 2 home pregnancy tests (a wk apart) that both came back negative. Intuition told me that I was pregnant & I made a dr. appointment at which I got confirmation that I was pregnant. Hcg levels can still be too low to pick up at 5 weeks in some women.

A blood test will pick up even the slightest levels and will tell you for sure.

Same here, got a positive blood test but period came, and the next month I could swear I had all the signs, and period was over due, but I wasn't pregnant. Luckily the month after that I had all the signs and was!


I took a home test AND a blood test - for the levels. Its comforting to know the levels.

I'm fine, I do get a bit queasy at the thought of some foods and smells and when my stomach is empty, and I've totally lost my appetite it seems, although I feel I'm starving after ever 2 hours. But I've been taking good multivitamins for many years and just continued taking them (no iron yet), boosted the folic acid and calcium. I have loads of fiber (psyllium husk) every night, so constipation is kept at bay. Other than that I'm awfully tired and have to sleep in a bra top, which seems to help the pain. I hope the nausea doesn't kick in full force though, although they say its a great sign if it does!


I start to feel a bit queer about 5-6ish and then before I sleep if its more than two hours after I've eaten I feel definitely queasy, so I eat a small amount of cereal and milk shortly before bed. I seem to have gone off garlic. Yesterday DH made mashed potatoes with spinach and garlic and I was so put off by the spinach and garlic I couldnt eat it. Ugh.

People who have been trying to get pregnant are all a bit on the edge and I think the OBs are used to it by now! I dont think you will be judged if you just want to reassure yourself. You will be paying for the blood test - the doc can just give you a slip for the lab, you dont even need to pay visiting fees, and then you'll know definitively and will be able to get on with it.


My TCM told me that stress can cause painful breasts too. And we all know about the bloating etc. I REALLY thought I was pregnant two months ago with the breast pain etc, and demanded a blood test, which was absolutely zero. My body really did a piece on me that time.
