go to the doctor and tell her asap. Sometimes it's just implantation spotting, but have to make sure. take care.

Several friends of mine have had spotting in early pregnancy (6th week), had ultrasounds immediately and saw a heartbeat and were reaasured. My cousin said she had spotting almost throughout her two pregnancies and she has beautiful healthy children.

I experienced it with my first m/c in my 4th week, which continued through to my fifth and resolved itself in an m/c.

I'd suggest you get to an OBG ASAP.

It could be nothing, but after two myself, you know that there is nothing you can do if the unthinkable is happening.

I'm sorry for anyone who has to go through the alarm of spotting - its awful, so please take heart and rest up.

I had spotting with 3 pregnancys. Usually when its a early as you its proberly implantation. Dont fret yet. Call your Dr for reasurance and make an appointment, they should see you straight away for a scan which they will have to do vaginally, its fine though. Dont worry. GOOD LUCK

MY line to mothers spotting in early prgnancy is this--- If every mother who spotted in early pregnancy were to misscarry, the human race would have died out by now.

Progesterone is sometimes given, kind of ,well it wont do any harm, but there is no evidence that it will help.

I had brief pink spotting this morning. I called my doctor and literally flew there for an ultrasound. He was so very reassuring - he said its so common, and not to worry, that he has two women at least calling in every week like this. Anyway, we did the ultrasound and got a nice regular heartbeat, the size is exactly 8 weeks, 1.65cm, which is what I am, so I was very reassured. The doctor said that he thinks all is going to be OK and he's not just saying that to reassure me. I am used to his style and he is normally quite open about bad news, so I'm feeling a lot better. But what a shock!!! ugh.

firsttimemom, happy to hear that it's nothing and the fetus is alright, yes, they say it's common to women. Trust your doctor. Meanwhile, don't stress yourself, have lots of rest and watch what you eat, don't eat cold food. Take care.

Hey, may i please ask when you say ultrasound, is it transvaginal bec. it's still on early stage? sorry for my ignorance ;-)

No its not vaginal. My doctor refused to do a scan at 5-6 weeks transvaginal because he didn't want to disturb things and also because it was too early to get a heartbeat anyway, so why simply mess around in there. At 7 weeks we scanned through my abdomen and similarly today.

Whew!

ok, got it firsttimemom, thanks. I also believe that you should not bother it, you can't see the heartbeat yet so what's the deal, unless of course, you were bleeding or something is wrong.

Wow, time flies so fast, you're now 8 weeks. All the best.

Thanks Crystal. Yes, time is flying past, cant believe its 8 weeks already! I scanned the ultrasound in and sent it to my mom and sisters!!! Today I felt sick all day. Not awfully sick, I could still function and havent puked, but certainly, head is woozy and I feel like something wants to get out!!! LOL

How are all the other moms to be feeling at this point?

I am so confused... had my first IUI over 2 weeks ago and my periods are due tomorrow. I experienced some very light brownish spotting on Wed., had nothing yesterday and have slightly heavier brownish discharge today. I have no idea if it's my period or implantation spotting. How long would implantation spotting last for? Is it necessary to go for a HPT or is it too soon to get an accurate reading? Any ideas about what I should do?

Hi xox, this 2ww is really hard, don't do HPT as i find it early, or rather, like what simplythebest said, you might get disappointed, it's a waste of money too. You're still early if AF is due tomorrow, usually you period will come later like 15 or 16 days after your ovulation, not 14 days bec. of the medicine. I don't think it's implantation spotting, but don't give up hope not until AF shows up in full force. Take care.

Thanks simplythebest and honeypie.

If it is my period, then I should go to the doctor tomorrow for the next cycle of IUI. I am so unsure about what to do next.
