Could anyone recommend an experienced and caring OB who would allow me to have realistic expectations of my natural childbirth? I would prefer someone who could speak chinese.

I actually suggest you talk to a midwife - they are more pro-natural if I can summarize it that way. Ob's tend to be much more to the point in their approach to delivering babies - you'll have better luck dealing with a midwife. Hulda at Annerly does an excellent job explaining some of the intricacies of what happens when you go natural, and gets you to understand the pain that you will probably experience - thereby being quite realistic. I went to her because I was planning natural birth. With her help and advice, I was successful - even with 36 hour labor. Unfortunately, she doesn't speak Chinese...but she is excellent.

Of the private docs, Dawkins has a good reputation for supporting women who'd like a natural (vaginal) birth. Don't think he speaks Chinese, but perhaps...?

I would recommend Dr. Joe Chan to you. My friend used him previously and delivered a lovely boy naturally. I had an ovarian cyst operated by him through key-hole surgery early this year. I am currently pregnant and Dr. Chan is also looking after me. I think he is very good, professional and caring. After all, he is not expensive. He can speak both English and Chinese. Take care and god bless you. His no. is 25233328.

Dr Christine Choy at Care for Women in New World Tower (3112 0480)is very experienced and very caring. She is a wonderful doctor who will look after you and take account of your wish for a natural delivery. Can't speak too highly of her
