Actually even the private hospitals are not getting the supplies they ordered well in advance.

Remember to take the general precautions against flu. If we get stock I will post on the site.

I don't want to have the flu shot whilst pregnant. I am more paranoid about the vaccine and the possible short term or long term affects on the unborn child (are we SO SO certain there are none??) than I am about getting flu. After all, how often have you ever really had flu anyway? Usually it is just the common cold but we call it the flu.

There is no reason why you should not have a flu shot as a pregnant woman. In fact, there is a recommendation that women in the second and third trimesters do have the jab.

But, do you really need it? Generally, no. It confers NO protection against bird flu, and is not generally taken up by women who are pregnant.

But if you DO decide for it, then know that there really are no problems with it. Be at peace.

I asked my OBGYN yesterday if I should get a flu shot. I am 30 weeks or so pregnant.

He said it is recommended but not required, and did not have a strong opinion on this.

He told me if I want one to ask my GP.

Maybe your OBGYN can advise you best.
