maternity leave with twins!

My wife is expecting twins early next year and I was wondering how to find out whether we're entitled to extra maternity leave due to the extra difficulties and risks involved?

I'd also like to find out if we can get financial assistance/tax breaks, medical or care assistance, etc, etc. Any ideas???

I agree with TC regarding maternity leave, The maternity leave is the same for one or for twins, but you can extend it further for a month if medically unfit to work but would be without salary. Regading madical care if you go to public hospitals the exps are very low may be it will cos you HKD2,000.00 (aprox) but if you prefer private then it depends upon your insurance police. Regarding Tax you will get child allowance for HKD30,000.00 for each child but as you babies will born during assessment year 2005-06 you can claim the allowance next year. For tax payment for yr 2004-05 which is due around January, if have financial problem, can request the IRD to give you some more time but not sure if they will charges some interest ot surcharges, this you can check with IRD by calling the telephone no. given your assessment letter. Now a days lot of banks also provide short term loan for Tax payment
