Today I was writing up some cue cards for myself for a training I'm doing next week and used permanent market pens. The smell got kinda overpowering and I closed them, but I must've been exposed for about 10-15 minutes and then the smell lingered on in my office cause it was after 7 and the a/c had been turned off. My throat got irritated a bit.
I'm now brooding (and stressing) that this may have affected the bubba. I did some checking on the internet and learned that xylene is the dangerous chemical in such pens, and have to go back tomorrow and check if these pens had xylene in them.
How much of one time exposure is enough to harm the baby?

Your baby will recover from this exposure - the womb is a haven for generating new cells all the time, just avoid siffing chemicals too often.

Thanks dimac4, I was so worried. I checked when I got in to work today (yes I work saturdays ugh). The pen was Artline and it says its xylene free. Thank God! Still, I know better next time!
Take care
