I already have varicous veins in my left leg. However now at week 22 these veins have decided to multiply and are starting to worry me.
I have looked around for support tights but can only find 15 denier ones. Does anyone know where I can get thick (for the winter!) black support tights - around 40 denier?
Cheers

I have MULTIPLE varicose veins in my right leg, and not my left (yet.) I have read that the tights are helpful, but also that most of these veins will disappear after the pregnancy is over. (Let's hope so because they are gross!) Did mothercare not have any of the support hose?

I use the scholls flight socks. they are wonderous. I started using them sometime ago because of an injury that has my left ankle swelling when I sit or stand for too long. They have reduced that like crazy. I can swear by them. But they are only knee length...

I second the scholl flight socks. Wish I could find them in white, though. Maybe in the US... About the veins, don't count on them disappearing. Mine didn't, and now I'm not even 4 months along (with my 3rd) and they are bothering me already. I can't wait to have them removed after this baby..they're hideous!

support tights are great - if you can still get the on by yourself...
I don't have the veins, but my legs swell and they help a lot with the swelling and circulation.
I have the fligth socks, which were a blessing on a long flight in the 6th and 7th month. I had one set of tights, which I also really liked in Month 6/7. They were a bit of a struggle to get on, but I could do it. They made my legs feel (and look!) much better.
Now I am in month 8, and really need to wear these... BUT, I can't put them on anymore....
Pregnancy support tights are very strong with a lot of compression for your legs... even getting normal socks/stockings on is a challenge - these are practically impossible to do alone... and no matter how loving and wonderful my husband it, it isn't easy to help either...
So I have a few pairs of tights, still in the box, because I can't even face the idea of trying to get them on anymore....
My suggestion is, where them while you can, and hopefully you are more flexible, more cooridnated and have a smaller bump than I do so you can wear them longer into the 3rd trimester!!
guess I will sell the new ones in a pack when I sell off all the maternity clothes later... and to think, I went out of my way to find them and get them just for the 3rd trimester so I would be able to wear them every day... ha ha, little did I know that it would be such a comedy of errors attempting to get dressed!
In the meantime - foot massages and pedicures :)

We have these tights in the Centre here at Lyndhurst Terrace. They cost 50 HKD each but if you buy two you get one free.
Feel free to call for more info, I am here myself most mornings, 2983 1558,
