I gave birth a couple of years ago at the Matilda and the standard rooms only had three beds, have they refurbished the standard rooms or are they just squeezing in another bed?? Having a debate where to have the second any suggestions would be most welcome.

I went a tour of Matilda and as far as I could see there are four choices, the VIP private room, the private room with room for hubby to stay, the semi private with 2 beds and the standard room as above!

But there are no pictures of the rooms, I think it is best to visit the hospital.

There are some pictures in the gallery on the website but nothing can give the feel for a place like a look round.

It is personal but on visiting, I found the Matilda a bit of a weird place. I don't need marble and fake Roman murals when I give birth!! Of course, they have a great reputation and I have heard that people's birth experiences are good there. The view is good too if you get the bed in a shared room that is by the window...but no guarentee as first delivered first served on the day.
