Hi all,
I've been pregnant for 5 months and everything was alright until today's check up. Dr. told me that my uterus is bigger than expected and ask me to do another examination in coming friday. Does anybody know reasons for this and what is the worse could happen. Pls pls reply if anybody knows any reason..

I don't know any reason for this but I am surprised that your doctor did not sit down with you and explain the possible reasons and implications. If you are very worried give them a call back to discuss. Friday is still a few days away and you don't want to be losing valuable sleep over this. Also, check out websites like babycenter.com or babycentre.co.uk - they often have useful information on pregnancy and possible complications that can arise. I hope that it all turns out well for you and I am sure that it will if you are closely monitored. But next time, don't walk out of your doctor's office without answers. Some of them just give you some news and then just expect you to deal with it without any further information - amazing!

possible you are carrying twins? Or you have fibroids? I think those are two reasons for a larger than normal uterus...are you eating more? Possible worry for gestational diabetes? If everthing up to now has been pretty normal, I'd try and stay calm about it until you find out...

Thanks sam100 & hkchoichoi. Everything was fine at the ultrasound today. Neither twins nor fibroids. Finally the conclusion was size of the uterus may vary with the individual body size. Wonder why he didn't say that simple fact last time.
