I'm off to London next week and would like to compare price and availability of baby supplies like strollers and cots with what I have seen in HK. Can anybody recommend good areas in London with a high concentration of baby shops?
Thanks!

You can see UK prices without even leaving the comfort of your computer room in HK (but when you google, note that we Brits call them "pushchairs", not "strollers"!). See, for example:

You can also try John Lewis department store on Oxford Street.
When I was in London a month ago, a huge babycare shop was under construction on Regent Street just off Oxford Circus (next to the Apple Shop). I've forgotten the name but my London friends say its a reputable chain store.

and the quality is good, after all most of their products are made in China!

Do some google searches for online shops too, for example toysrus.co.uk has a babies section. There are other shops too - this way you might be able to save some time byt 'window shopping' or even ordering before you are there.
Have a great trip!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Is there any kind of one-stop-shop like Bumps to Babes in Central London? Or a good area (like Ocean Terminal in HK)that has lots of vendors close by? I vaguely remember some baby shops along the King's Road from when I used to live in London, but that was 6 years ago and babies were the last thing on my mind!

I belive there is a Babys-R-Us in Causeway Bay now, In Winsdor House. Plan to check it out tomorrow afternoon, will let you know.
For London, would also suggest John Lewis & Mothercare

The problem with London is that few Brits with young families shop in the centre. That is simply because few young families (except the super rich) can afford a house in the centre (you would be looking at a minimum of HK$20 mn for four bedrooms and a garden in safe zones with good schools such as SW3), and most professional Brits regard a garden as essential for kids). We live instead in suburbs and dormitory towns.
Of course, you can find everything you will ever want in Harrods or Regent St... but don't hold your breath for bargains there.

The only way you are likely to get much cheaper stuff is to order it over the internet or by phone, to be delivered to where you are staying. Pretty much everything you would buy from a shop will cost you as much as here. But over the internet you can get some bargains.
