I should be going through IUI sometime this week. I would like to know if IUI procedure is painful or can cause any discomfort.

Hi MrsJ I didn't find the procedure painful it's a little uncomfortable but no more so than a pap smear. Try your best to relax so as to prevent discomfort. Good luck to you, my thoughts will be with you.

I'll concur. It's not painful, just a bit invasive but, as Perthites said, no more so than a pap and no "prick". If you've had the "flushing" procedure (I think a lot of people do early on in fertility assistance), that was more invasive than IUI, I thought.

No, it's not, it's easy and fast, just uncomfortable for a few minutes. Hate to say this, but the most painful part is if we fail on this treatment. Good luck! All the best!
