Do anyone of you had experience with the Allianz especially on the Pregnancy and Childbirth benefit? I have been getting lots of conflicting informations from several customer service officers from the Allianz and it is stressing me out!!!! HELP!!!!

Why are you so stressed out? I brought allianz for the maternity package from Kwiksure- ask for Raymond or Christian, both are good and will get back to you usually on the same or the next day. Several of my friends have the same package and they have no problems.

Did you guys get the package after you found that you were pregnant or before?

On my Allianz Policy, I was fully covered for maternity 2 years after I took it out. This was originally my health insurance for work, so the policies may vary by company etc.

We bought the policy for than 10 months ago, so I have passed the waiting period. There are so many things that I can't claim eventhough I am given high benefit limit (HKD70,000 per policy year) Among them are 3D and 4D ultrasound scans, down screening test and any genetic testings. If I get a pregnancy package from clinic/ hospital, I will only get the reimbursement after baby's delivery. It is so ridicules. Each time I write to email to them, their replies are always similar "according or refer to your terms & condition". Hoever, the terms and condition on the benefit guide book are very brief and vague. I foresee many discrepancies on the coverage will happened. I have also asked for list of test/screening but none able to provide one. Do anyone of you know what are covered and not?

Oh I hope not- I recommended my sister to buy one of their packages last month after looking at all the rave reviews about it- didn't someone say in the other threads that all the maternity test and antenatal classes etc were included?

No, antenatal classes are definitely not included. I am also with the Allianz medical insurance. Not sure about the 3/4 D scans.

Hi, I got Allianz insurance for 2 years, then I got pregnant early this year. So far I never get any problem with claims. When I was 18 weeks , the doctor ask me to do triple test and I need to do aminocentesis ,I did it in HK ( Dr. Marcor Wan). Allianz never ask anything and pay me back all of the bills.
I'm not sure about tha maternity package from the hospital.
anyway is all depend on which Allianz premium you took. And the limit on maternity or complication during pregnancy.
So far my experience with Allianz is great. they pay back my claims without many questions asked. As long I have the proper bill and claim form filled.
As for my delivery soon, I must give treatment guarantee form to them before . Then they will arrange the payment with the hospital.

OK this is the link that I gave my sister to look at when she was deciding whether to get maternity insurance or not- seems some people can claim for loads of stuff. http://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/forums/pregnancyfertility/threads/79318.asp

Allianz Worlwide is super coverage.
They covered all my prenatal visits, scans, physical therapy, Annerley midwife package, private room at Matilda and all doctor fees.
You need to apply for a 'treatment guarantee' for the hospital fees. The forms are all on the Allianz website and the hospital you choose can help.
They did not cover only three things:
Husband's meals at hospital
Internet access at hospital
elective circumsicion
Try Neil Raymond at www.kwiksure.com or Allianz directly.
Be sure not to get the 'Asia' Policy as this does not cover maternity in full.
(I am based in Hong Kong)
Ballon > what type of policy did you get from allianz, bcos apparently there are several categories

Not sure what kind of policy I have and definitely not the Asia policy. My policy applies worldwide except for US and Canada. If I am not wrong it is a Worldwide Group Scheme and the benefit limit is GDP 1 million.
I was told by Allianz the following things are not covered:
1). Ante-natal classes
2). Amniocentesis or any DNA analysis (as I am below 35 yrs old). Even if the result from NTS is poor.
3). Any genetic testing
4). Down sreening testing
5). 3D & 4D ultrasounds
6). Triple/ Bart's or quadruple tests
7). Newborn: preventive diagnostic procedures e.g. routine swabs, blood typing, and hearing tests
8). Husband's meal at hospital
9). Internet accesss at hospital
10). Elective circumsicion
Sa-Sha, do you get your O&G to fill in the Section 5 & 6 on the claim forms each time you send your claims to Allianz? Or having an intemised invoice is sufficent.

Hi Andrew, many thanks for your effort in checking my query with Allianz. I have the Table of Benefits and guide book but it is written similar pointers as yours (2 & 3). I explained to my G&O about my situation too and she advised me to speak to Group Scheme Administrator. Do you know anyone in such department in Allianz? In addition, my G&O was very suprised when I told her Down's screening test is not covered as it is one of common screening test. So..what is common screening and follow up testing?
I am thinking of getting a full pregnancy package instead of pay per consultation. I spoke to Allianz about this but they said they only reimburse me after delivery if I opt for the package (9 months later). I find it is not right because buying a package 30% cheaper than per consultation. Is there anyone I could discuss with at Allianz with regards to my good intention and not getting penalise for trying to save their money?

I guess I was lucky and Allianz did not realise my scans were 3D and 4D, they reimbursed them all. So were all the above mentioned things except the three I listed:
My husband's meals
Internet access
Elective circumcision
BUT they have different levels of policy, so it does vary depending upon what level you are on. Not every level is 'full coverage'.
Good luck - with the pregnancy and the insurance.

baloon,
I only need to fill in the claim form, my oby/gyn filled in the normal part like, the diagnosis, elective or emergency, etc. then I send with the hospital receipt.
I'm under 35 years, but the triple screening test showed that I must do the aminocentesis. So my Dr in guangzhou(peggy lu) asked me to go to HK to do amino and DNA test, I went there , asked Dr Marcor to fill the form, that's it.
Allianz told me , only the elective non medical necessary c-section will not be cover. I never ask about 3D and 4D Ultrasound.
Anyway My maternity plan(out and in patient) is in fully refund, and I'm on individual plan

Thanks Sha-sha. Thanks for your pointer. I will get my O&G to fill in the form on each visit to avoid any discrepancies. Thank God that my NTS result was great. The fluid measurement was only 0.165 cm.
I am no concern on not having elective circumcision, meals and internet not covered. My concerns are more towards understanding and knowing what 'common screening and test' means to Allianz. To most O&G in HK, down screening test is a common test but according to Allianz it is not covered. Hence, not having a proper definitions of 'common screening and test' will cause many misunderstanding between policy holder and insurance company.
Andrew...I am thinking of buying a full pregnancy care package which includes pre-natal (consultation and ultrasound only), delivery fee, hospital visits and post-natal visits. Medications and test are not included. I thought it is a great bargain, however the only catch is I need to pay the full amount of the package NOW. According to Allianz, they will not reimburse me the cost of the package till after my baby's delivery. As for other cost such as hospital fee, anesthetic and paediatrician, I could use Treatment Guarantee 4 weeks before delivery. Having to do this, it will worked out cheaper.
I would appreciate if you could check with the Allianz on this matter because buying the package is so much cheaper than based on per visit.
Thank you.

Hello Andrew,
Thank you so much for your effort. I would like to talk to the right person in Allianz and I understand. Can I call you or email to you instead in getting the contact name?
Thank you!!!
