Hi, i am due to have my embryos transferd back tomorrow afternoon just wondering what peoples ideas are re resting afterward. Any point taking some time off work? - obviously not heading back to the office tomorrow afternoon, but considering if it's worth while taking a couple of rest days, or will i just go crazy sitting home thinking about it.

no you wont be crazy thinking about it. Just relax for 2 days while waiting the positive results from pregnancy test.

Find yourself good book & practise relaxation technique breath in 4 sec & out 4 sec it helps.

Get the folid acid supplements from your doc after the embryo transfer & ask whether you need

progesterone support gel ?

CONGRATS & have a smooth baby transfer...^-^

Hi

There are mixed reports. In general the 2week wait drives everyone a little crazy and it seems to drag.

Plan things through out the 2 weeks to make it pass easier.

Right afer transfer bedrest is recommended.

Some docs recommend 3 days of rest (not nec in bed just lazing around), others none.

I reckon stay in bed the rest of transfer day and take it easy for 2 or 3 days after if you can take time of work. Go for walks (the weather should hold). Go to movies in the middle of the day. Chill and watch tv all day long!

Best is to do what you feel is right. If you want to go to work, go by all means.

Just follow the recommendations that are given to you.

No heavy lifting

No swimming

etc etc

Are you doing the pre and post-retrieval acupuncture treatment?

All the best tomorrow!

In all likelihood, you will WANT to sleep/lounge around the rest of the day, I know I did anyway. And your body probably won't be up to being back to usual for the next couple of days either.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it takes about a week for an embryo to implant well, so follow your doctor's precautions until the blood test...

Good luck :-)
