I'm a very pro-vaginal delivery person, YET, for me, there are two situations where I would do my darndest for the c-section. The first is multiples, the second is breech, any sort of breech. One of my concerns (but not the only one) is that not a lot of doctors these days have much experience delivering these situations vaginally.
Doesn't help you with how to approach the doctors at Tsan Yuk, but maybe just some support to push for it :-) Good luck.

A couple of 100% natural ways to try to turn a breech baby are:
a. Walking for an hour a day has been shown to help. It’s all to do with gravity.
b. Or you can try getting your bottom higher than your head. Get on the floor on your hands and knees and then place your head on the ground (knee-chest position). Do this three times a day for 15 minutes each time. It’s supposed to discourage your baby’s bottom from settling into your pelvis.
Alternative therapies include:
Acupuncture – It has been used successfully (can have up to 70% success rate) to turn breech babies and can be started as early as 32 weeks. The most common treatments used by acupuncturists are moxibustion (applying heat using the dried herb moxa) alone or moxibustion in combination with acupuncture. The acupuncture point used to turn breech babies is located just near the little toe. For this method you have to consult a qualified acupuncturist.
The homoeopathic remedy, Pulsatilla, has been claimed to be successful. It is usually given as a single dose and you would need to consult a qualified homoeopath.

Did the Tsan Yuk doctor mention external cephalic version (ECV)? It's been used for thousands of years and a lot of research has been carried out to test its safety. The UK's Royal College of Obstetricians now recommends ECV for all women with an uncomplicated breech pregnancy at term (37-42 weeks).
My own mother had ECV done at 37/38 weeks - my fault. But I'm a stubborn one and apparently flipped right back over. The midwife did another ECV and my poor mother had to wear a corset to keep me in place. I obviously didn't like that, making her wait nearly two more weeks. So it does work - even twice in some cases!
Have you tried the knee-chest position? In one very, very small study more than 90% of babies turned when the mother did it. Don't let your thighs press against your bump. And do it for five days.

Dear mythoughts, cara and claire,
Thank you very much for your replies about my worries during pregnancy. I had vaginal birth on 9/11 at 12.45am to a beautiful baby girl who smiled as soon as she was put in my arms captured by hubby with nokia 6630!
I was scheduled to be induced during my 37 wks on 12 Sept but my water broke without contractions on 10 Sep at 2am. Princess Margaret still had to induce me and I went on labor with 2 shots of epidural plus entonox in between for 22 hrs and only had 10 mins of pushing!
Again, thank you.

I am 36 weeks with baby boy breeched and very nervous about having to have a c-section. Dr. says there's little chance of him turning but didn't explain much - I may have to call him and ask him to explain further (was too shocked and disappointed at the time) He says if baby doesn't turn by next visit in two weeks (16, Nov) he will have to schedule a c-section for me & honest to god never ever thought I we would have to ever consider this at this early stage...Please, has anyone here had successful manipulation and if so, please refer me the info a.s.a.p...the baba's measuring quite big so time is running out! I have read all the possible info from the feedback from others on this site - anything new??

Hi sharefitness,
WHen I had a 4D ultrasound during my 35wks, the doctor said my baby was in breech position. I have tried turning upside down in the beach and swimming pool, moxa treatment, 4-leg exercise as many as mentioned in this forum and when I was induced 38wks, my baby was not in breech anymore. Try your best with the suggestions and check again if baby still in breech, goodluck!
