Baby movements at 24 weeks

My baby seems to move a lot one day and then not so much the next day. And then he's sometimes more active at night than he is during the day - is this normal?

cara is right...

don't worry too much about baby movements.

some people count the number of times they feel the baby kick, which sounds really stressful to me.

in my case, i found my baby had a pattern and i just in the back of my mind noted when he did kick during these regular periods of the day.

Yes, no need to worry. I'm at 32 weeks now and he is definitely into a pattern, keeping me up all night!

You will also become in tune with not just kicking, but shifting and spinning of your LO, it's a strange feeling at first, but is fun trying to guess which part is what - is that the head? the bum? ;) Wish I could see what was going on in there.

i read some place that they should kick about 10 times during a two hour period during a normally active period. Though he does easily go over ten times within half an hour when is active - he's not always active at the same time of the day - so i'm a bit like helllllooooo!!! anybody in there - you know what i mean?

Right now i can't tell head from bum - not to mention no idea when he's got the hiccups....

when do you start being able to distinguish?

I didn't start to notice the hiccups until I was about 27 weeks or so. The sensations of the hiccups are just like ours, rythmic pulses if you will. It almost feels like a muscular twitch that you get in the rest of your body, except it's in your tummy instead.

I feel them very low in my abdomen, as I have carried this baby really low throughout my whole pregnancy. Luckily I have escaped being kicked in the ribs, but I get horrible pressure on my bladder instead. Oh well!

I really feel the kicking when I lay on left side, then he starts right up. Sometimes I think "when did you kick last?" and he gives me a nudge, pretty cool. :)

i think i felet hiccups for the first time..he he ... such a funny feeling.

I know what you mean about getting a nudge just when you are wondering.

I've taken to watching my belly dancing on it's own in the mornings and evenings. It has a life all of it's own :))
