Hi, I am surprised about the 15 day waiting period. Our company will retroactively cover our newborn from birth, but until we receive her insurance card, we have to pay any medical bills upfront and then file a claim for reimbursement. I would double check the policy- I do find here in HK, that often my question is not quite understood the first time around... If you or your husband have an HK ID Card, you should be able to take your baby to a gov. hospital for medical attention in the meantime (relatively free of charge). Hope you get it sorted.

My work insurance is the same, but agree, if there's any probs you need to go to a govt hospital.
