Dr. Choy's Package

Could someone please give me a rundown asap on Dr. Christine Choy's package $38,000. What extra's do I have to pay for, would appreciate the exact $ for extras. Which hospitals do you get to deliver at and your experience there? Much appreciated gotta make a decision soon. Seems like so many hidden costs which can be disastrous for us at the end! Suggestion for a pediatrician, hers is too costly. Thank you so much.

You would have to pay for all medication and tests yourself. This would really depend on the tests and medication you need (for each person it is probably a bit different). Tell her you don't have insruance and don't want tests and medication unless absolutely necessary, I had insurance and found she would give me medication "in case....".


I understand that she delivers at Matilda, Adventist, Canossa, HK Sanatorium and St Teresa. I delivered at the Adventist which was good except that we did not get on with the head midwife there (a personal thing). Since I will have bought insurance again I shall probably try the Matilda next time round.


As to ped. I agree he is expensive. Being first time parents we didn't know better and just stuck with him.

As to total costs, I stayed in semi-private room and total cost (pre and post natal checks, medication, tests (I did not need the downs test), anaesthetist, hospital, delivery, etc.) came to around HK$75,000 (except ped cost which we could not claim)
