Hi, I'm in a dilemma...
I am going to be 38 yrs old in a couple of months. I have a daughter. I now suddenly feel that another baby would be good for my daughter & for our family to be complete.
38 is not young, but its not old either.
Anyone who has had a baby around that age..pls advise how do you feel about it?
How does the pregnancy checks go? Info on the Amnio test, etc?
I am really confused about what I want right now...
Pls help!

I had number 1 at 38, and if all things go to plan then no 2 will happen when i'm 40.
When I was younger I wanted a career. I had a career and a failed marriage. Several years later I found the man I truly love and I must say, I couldn't be happier.
At 38 I was ready for the baby, and now i'm ready to have another. Everyone is different as to how they feel about babies. I keep myself fit and healthy and exercised throughout. My health checks were fine, and my boy was fine too.
I had an amnio as well but that went fine too.
No one can tell you whether you are ready or not. Only you can make that decision for youself. There are plenty of older mothers out there who manage equally as well as younger - but it is YOUR decision.

I am almost 25 having my 3rd child. I think its wonderful that you want to have kids. No matter how old you are. Many women have children later and in many ways its a benefit to the child as well as to the parents. I say go for it!!!! No one can tell you its wrong or your too old!!! Age doesnt determine everything! Just last month a 71 yr old woman had her first child. She is in excellent condition and is very fit.

there has just been recent articles to on amnino and how they have foudn that they are not nearly as risky (ie. may cause miscarriage) at all as they once thought to be.
I hope all goes well for you. I understand the stresses but it really seems like you are far from alone. A lot of mums, older and younger really doing well here, no matter the circumstance.

I'm i same situation as you.Career,freedom. and failed marriage.
But I met this guy and we are really serious about having family together but the problem is I'm 43 and I'm really aafraid I'm too old for this even I really like to experince motherhood.
