I had HSG last year and it wasn't pain but a little bit uncomfortable. Just relax. Good luck.

I had this. It wasn't that painful but I did cry throughout the whole procedure. I found it quite humiliating and I also found it quite emotional as in - why me, why so I have to do this cr@p!! Your wife may be tired and bleed for a few days, but I think that you need to be there to help her along with a bit of emotional support.
