is it ok to use off or other mozzie repelants when preggers? how about those things you stick in the sockey that give off antimozzie stuff - is it ok to use these in our small bedroom?

I didn't - only because I was so anal. But a NATURAL repellent - is eating bananas - strange, eh? But if you eat one a day, it makes mozzies less likely to bite.

Citronella...
Our baby eats a banana every day for breakfast, and without his natural citronella based repellent on he gets eaten alive.
Doubibou sells a really nice one, and Mozzie Mike is at Bumps2Babes.
For your bedroom you can get an oil burner and use citronella oil.

CRJ - baby still gets eaten alive with Bananas? REally? So weird - #2 eats one a day and never gets bitten, #1 hates Bananas and always gets bitten (and they sleep in the same room.) hubby hates them and refuses to eat then and gets bitten and I eat them and don't....

just to add, when i was pregnant and paranoid with no.1, i refused to use any repellant. but when we went for a beach holiday, i did use the johnsons baby clear lotion with mozzie repellant. figured if it's safe enough for baby, it's safe enough for me? check with your doctor if you are worried!!

I guess the bananas only work on some people! Strange though - I've read that it is effective.

I eat 1 to 2 bananas a day, and if there is a mossie or no seeum within a mile it will get me.
Soembody once told me it depends on your bloodtype as to how much you get bitten, and that RH- is the worst (which I am) but how can the bugs tell unless they bite me!!!unless different blood gives off different smells.
But to the original post, maybe use a natural one meant for babies, Mike Mozzie is good, and the gel smells nice.

I think in Mannings they have a soap used for infants that's meant to keep mozzies away. If not, they have a lotion in Chicco for the same purpose. I doubt there's anything harmful in those if babies can use them too.

some interesting ideas including fenneL oil and eating garlic...I wonder if my daughter doesn't get bitten because she eats so much kimchee? but then again, so does my husband...
