I had a positive pregnancy test on Monday and went to see the doctor today and he prescribed me Utrogestan. I had a miscarriage about a year ago so perhaps he suspects a high risk pregnancy?
Is it common to take hormone supplement during the first trimester? Appreciate it if anyone can share advice or experience.

interesting - no major problems and you were prescribed it? You had a miscarriage - but one is considered well within range of normal.
I had to take it when I had some bleeding in my 14 week. My dad (he's an OB) only told me that it may help and it won't HURT. I kept asking him if it was necessary and he said, it WILL NOT hurt so just take it.

fluery, i took Utrogestan when i was pregnant with my son for the first 3 month because my doc thinks my progesterone level was not very high. with this pregnancy, i bled and i had progesterone injections for the first 3 month and the baby is doing well now. so i guess it will only do your baby good and increase your chance of sustaining the baby, you should take it.

Thanks, Mother 2005. I had some blood yesterday morning and made an emergency run to the doctor's. He said it's an accidental hemorrhage and ordered me to stay home for the rest of the week and keep taking Utrogenstan. I was really scared because my last miscarriage started with bleeding. Luckily I haven't seen more blood and have been either lying down or sitting down since yesterday. Hopefully everything will be fine.

in that case fluery i really think you should continue with the progesterone. so glad that your bleeding has stopped, i was on bed rest for 2 month when i was bleeding and i bled for more than a month. without the progesterone injections i dont think i could have gone this far, i am 31 weeks now. good luck fluery and dont panic, dont worry, just rest plenty and dont carry heavy things. keeping my fingers cross for you.

Mother 2005, I can't wait to be 31 weeks. I am only 40 days and I feel like I've been pregnant for ever. Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery and thanks for the words of encouragement.

I was on utrogestan as well for the first 14 weeks, for the same reasons as Mother 2005 - my doctor worried that my hormone levels would be too low to support the development of the placenta. It helped prevent bleeding and at 14 weeks, I was taken off it and have been fine ever since (I'm at 32 weeks now).
