We had been trying for 18 months with no success, saw a gynaechologist who gave me an ultra-sound, said nothing was wrong and gave me a script for chlomid. Got pregnant the first month.so, worked for me.

good luck,i'm now 28 weeks along!

If you are a HK resident, you could go get treatment at a public hospital (Queen Mary or Prince of Wales). They allow IVF for women aged 39 or under. You will have to pay for the drugs, but it will be much cheaper than going to a private doctor.

although this thread was focused on trying to conceive #2, there is lots of really interesting information regarding conception in general. you may already know all of this - or you may find it helpful.

aside from all the other stuff, the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a great one to have in your library - Toni WEschler.

I have it on good authority from friends who tried to conceive for a long time that acupuncture works... Troy Sing is their hero!

It may be an idea to go to a gynae and get the basic tests done. That will cost about $3000. That way you will know better if there is something wrong or if you just haven't got lucky. You can always go to a public hospital if there are any problems if you are a HK resident.

hi sandy

sorry to hear that you are having a tough time conceiving.

toni weschler's book is good in educating you on basic facts, basil body temperature, cervical mucous, & how to potentially enhance it. i would also second babybemine's suggestion. get your dh to have a sperm analysis, you get your tubes checked, blood hormone levels checked, ovulation scans, and a die-check to ensure that your tubes are not blocked.

good luck, & feel free to post any other questions here.

all best from someone's who has been there.

You should both do tests to see if either of you have problems. It may not be necessary to do IVF. I found out I had PCOS and took medication and injections and got pregnant the natural way with out IUI or IVF.
