anyone know what the difference is between a 3D and a 4D scan - and when is the best time to get one done?!

3D ultrasound scans enable you to look at the face and body of your baby in three dimensions.



A 4D fetal ultrasound scan adds the dimension of time to these images so that you get live images of the movement of the child in the womb. It's the difference between a video and a still photograph. If you get one in HK you will usually provide get some pictures and a DVD of the 4D ultrasound scan. Recommended timing is 24-34 weeks; but in my opinion I would say 27 weeks is the best time as the size of the baby is just right, not too big not too small.

You can get one with Dr. Lam or Dr. Wan at the St. Geroge's Buidling. $1500.
