Hi All, me and my hubby lives in Beijing and have tried to be pregnant for a couple of years but no luck. I have tested myself abroad and I'm fine. However my hubby have decreased numbers of "live" sperms. Now to my questions... Anyone who knows what to do? At the Chinese hospital he went to they said he needed to eat expensive pills but nothing else? Anyone knows where we should go? How about if we need an IVF, where do U do that and how much does it cost? Anyone who can recommend a great TCM place where we can try things like fertility acupuncture and so on? Sorry for all questions but we need help. Thanks a billion times in advance!

Hello Festis,
we also had male factor infertility and my husband took Acetyl L-carnitine for about four months, didn't drink any alcohol, wore snug boxer shorts and his sperm count improved quite a bit (we had been trying for 10 years)! They wanted us to take the expensive pills too but we used the L-carnitine from the States ( about$8.00 a bottle). We underwent ICSI in August and I am now pregnant.
A good place to get info regarding IVF is the United family Hospital in Beijing. They work together with a Chinese fertility clinic in Beijing. www.unitedfamilyhospitals.com

Thanks a lot! We will try to get in contact with BJ United then! So you guys went through them also in regards to your ICSI? Congratulations also to the pregnancy!!!

Dear festis,
Thanks ;-)
We didn't do the procedure in Beijing as we live to far away from Beijing, but they bring in this elderly lady as a consultant (the consulting is not cheap over $100 US) and she spent a lot of time with us explaining the options and answering all our questions (all the documents from the hospital we went to were in Chinese and nobody spoke English well enough there to explain them to us). IF you speak Chinese you can probably go directly to the fertility hospital in Beijing. Good luck!
