Hello - I have been reading this forum for a while and finally decided to contribute. I just had my embroyo transfer with 2 embroyos, but one was not growing as fast as it should of so the doctor said I had little chance for that one. The other embryo also hadn't quite hit the 'blaso' stage, even though it was a 5 day transfer (due to my age, I did PGD to screen for abnormal eggs).
My question to everyone who has done IVF is how many eggs did you get, how many fertilized, what was the quality, and what about PDG results? I had 7 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized, 2 were grade 2, and 2 were grade 2 minus, we did PGD on only 3 (since the other two didn't continue to grow) and surprisngly 2 out of 3 were 'healthy', but only one growing at the speed it should.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I think there is a wide range of numbers and grades, and women get pregnant on many combinations. Try not to worry to much. I can't remember how many eggs I got, but I had five that fertilized (ranging from grades 1 to 3). I had three frozen embryo transfers (I had no fresh transfers as I had severe ovarian hyperstimulation); and it was in this last transfer with just one embryo that I managed to get pregnant. The doctor told me (and I think I've read this elsewhere) that the grades don't really indicate whether the embryo will attach, or whether it will develop healthily once implanted. I wish you luck! Also, mine was just a day 3 transfer, so I only had 2 to 4 cells per embryo. It's already great that yours made it to day 5!
