Scan at Tsan Yuk - so late??!!

I went for my first visit today to tsan yuk, got the blood test watche the video etc. I was told that my appointment for my first scan would be until April! Is this normal..I am 10 weeks just now and it seems like a very long time to wait for a first scan. Is this normal?

I decided to get a scan early through the private system. I have had two, one at 11 weeks, and one at 14 weeks.

The first was because I was just bursting to see the baby and heartbeat - just to really know there was someone in there!!


Because I am 35, they reccommended the OSCAR test, which is another scan and a blood test. They make measurements of the baby's neck etc. and estimate the chance of Downs Syndrome. They also told me the could tell the sex at this stage, but it turned out to be unclear at the time.


Each test cost between $1200 - $1600. After last time, they wanted me to come back for a 'routine' scan in another month. I don't think I will, I'll just wait for the 20 week scan at Tsan Yuk.
