Looking at this thread I am a little confused.
Which maternity hopitals are the main ones used in Macau ??
Are they public or private ??
Or are people only using the HK hospitals ??

Alot of women living in Macau do go to HK to give birth. THere are 2 hospitals here in Macau, the San Januario (sp? - government) and the Kiang Wu (Semi private). The San Jan do not provide any pain relief (not even gas) unless of course if it is a C-section. THe Kiang Wu can provide epi etc but they charge for everything! I have had friends give birth here one at the San Jan, one at Kiang Wu, neither were allowed to have hubbies in for the birth.
