I am about to undergo my first IVF treatment, does anyone have advice for me, or has anyone been through IVF and is willing to share info?
Thanks

I think the most important thing is to stay positive and take each day as it comes.Don't overanalyze every single thing.I know sometimes it's easier said than done .For me going on tryingtoconceive.com helped, they have a forum for IVF ,and there are always people trying that month along with you.
Other than that,before starting IVF
-eat HEALTHY,EXCERCISE in moderation,Avoid caffenine or reduce it to 1-2 bev a day,No smoking or drinking
During your IVF CYCLE
-continue eating a well balanced diet,Make sure you get adequate sleep, Continue light to moderate excerise,Ofcourse no alcohol, caffeine etc,Drink lots of water
After EMBRYO transfer-
-DO NOT
------Eat food older than 12 hours,
------fish high in mercury,
------Avoid excercise,
------lift anything heavy
DO-----
-------Drink a lot of water
-------Practice relaxation like meditation
-------Get lots of sleep(generally it's a good idea to stay lying as much as possible for 2-3 days after the transfer, but i'm not so sure if it works as different people have different opinions/experiences about this, but if you do have some free time, then why not, right? )
-------THINK POSITIVE
I just wanted to share my thoughts as it did help me get through the whole cycle. However, there are a lot of people on this forum who give invaluable advice having done enough reserch and gone through it.I gained a lot from them,if you look on some previous IVF threads you can find some more info.
The above mentioned points helped me personally but please take note if they are suitable for you!
GOOD LUCK!!

I agree with lovechild with the whole do not overanalyse everything issue. But seeing the list, its still seems overanalysed. Just live your life like you normally do and just avoid to do or eat anything drastic without thinking to much about it.
Its easier said then done of course, it all depends on your own attitude. Try to spend time with your husband/partner and friends so the time will hopefully pass asap and you will have no time to think about it too much.
Every situation is different again. Trying to compare will make it only harder.
I am actually going back for FET (Frozen Embryo transfer) soon (if everything works out this cycle) Good luck to you!

Thanks Flower,
I also wish you the best of luck, it's not an easy thing to go through emotionally, I have just joined a fertility coping group, we meet in central in Hong Kong, I haven't been yet, I start going in August, if you are keen to join, message me.
