i was due last week and was told on Friday that I will be admitted this Friday and induced this coming saturday, if i dont go naturally. Do you think I would be able to get induced a couple of days earlier? how open are the hospitals to requests like this. I will be delivering at the QMH

I suppose it's a little late to reply, but my experience w/ public hospitals is that they are completely inflexible with their regulations: if they say one week, it will won't be a minute earlier.
Another thing: I had booked for an epidural months in advance and signed all the discharge papers, but they were still fussy about it and tried everything to dissuade me rom having it, only to give it to me quite late and a very mild one "otherwise I wouldn't feel the need to push", which is complete rubbish! Make sure you get what you want!! Good luck :)
