Life after Dawkins?!!

we used dawkins for our first baby in HK and absolutely loved him! but now that he has left (has he definitely gone??) i am having trouble deciding who to go to now. yup, i have the list of all the OBs in HK but just can't decide. who have other mums gone to recently if they used dawkins first? also i like that he had the 4D machine in his office so you don't have to go elsewhere for it each time. i don't think any other OB has that?

I went with Sally Ferguson at OT&P and absolutely loved her. She is very professional and straight up which I really like. Some people have complained they thought she wasn't really "caring" enough, but I found her to extremely caring. She certainly isn't all touchy feely, but I definitely felt very confident and very well cared for. I had post natal depression with my first baby and Sally monitored me very closely throughout the pregnancy and afterwards.


As for the ultrasound machine, she doesn't have 4D, but she does have one in her rooms. Unless you need to see a specialist for anything, I had everything done, blood tests, ultrasounds, checkups, everything done there in the suites. I had to go for a comprehensive ultrasound at one stage, so I went to a specialist in Central and it was fine (that was 4D).


As for the delivery, I had natural for my first child in Australia, and this time i needed a c-section for medical reasons and I was really not looking forward to it and quite scared. Well, I need not be, between Sally and the team I had with me, it was amazing, really reassuring when I was freaking out. I highly recommend her.

Unfortunately Dr Dawkins has definately left Hong Kong. If you see you obstetrician at the hospital clinic we have a 4D scnner.

I agre Dr. D was fabulous - he delivered our first at the Matilda. For # 2 I am going to Dr. Grace Cheung (Central Health) who is also very good. I am fairly sure she is a resident at the Matilda also.
