Dr Sally Ferguson cost?

Have been trying to decide on a female obgyn through this forum and was wondering if anyone can tell me about the cost involved to see Dr Ferguson? Thank you

I went with Sally for my second child and whilst i thoroughly recommend her, she really was very professional and caring, she doesn't come that cheap.


I'm not sure if her fees are different from ob to gyn, so I can only go on ob costs. Roughly her consultation (basic checkup during pregnancy) was $950 for each appointment. When I had ultrasounds, blood tests, etc., it went from anywhere between $1,800-2,300.


I had a c-section due to medical reasons and her cost for simply delivering was $38K, but I beleive that has now gone up. I then had a daily consultation in the hospital room which was a cool $2k for a 3 minute checkup.


As I said, she does not come cheap, but I have to say I was more than happy with her care of me throughout the pregnancy and delivery. I found her extremely professional but very caring. I felt very comfortable with her and highly recommend her.


If you have private health cover as we did, of course it's not an issue.

Am seeing Sally now (for my second, she delivered my first). Her consultation is $1200 each time now with extra $400-$500 (?) for Ultra sound. She doesn't scan each time and if it's a 'quick peek' doesn't charge the extra. She was able to confirm a bed at the Matilda for me very early (one thing less to worry about early on) if that's also a concern and great all round professionally and personally.


We have partial insurance but the excess we pay for the added comfort is worth it and a personal choice.
