IVF, Miscarriage and high mercury

I am really confused and hoping for some help. I have undergone 4 IVF cycles this year, two of which resulted in pregnancy. Unfortunately both resulted in miscarriages (at 6 and 8 weeks). It was devastating and I'm feeling extremely raw and wondering whether I can muster the energy to continue with IVF.

My doctor said one reason for the m/c could be high mineral levels, which need to be discounted or treated. My husband and I gave hair samples which have come back with high mineral levels...mine basically says I'm toxic!!! Went to see a chinese doc who didn't read the reports properly but just wanted to start IV treatment straight away, didn't explain why and it's pretty expensive. Although I'm desperate to get 100% fit before another IVF cycle, I don't really understand how to reduce the mineral levels. Can I just cut out fish to remove new mercury? Does this reduce the existing mercury in my body...I've read about mercury detoxification protocol...do I need to do that? It looks like it could be a longer process than I want to wait. Have we just had "bad luck" and everything will be ok next time?

I am soooooo keen to have a family. The one blessing through this is we know we can get pregnant (which we didn't know before), but I want to do everything I can to sustain the next pregnancy as I think it may be our last IVF cycle (hopefully!). I take extra progesterone (tablets and suppositories) post ET.

Any help/advice would be really appreciated. I'm so confused. Thanks.

Poor you, sounds like you're really going through it! I've just had one miscarriage, and wonder the same things. Although I have regularly detoxed, I had a filling removed about 3-4 weeks ago and when you start looking up about taking extra vitamins there are lots of stories about people having all their amalgam fillings removed to help with their heavy metal state.

This could be something to consider if you have a lot of amalgam fillings. The web is full of stories, but I've yet to have a dentist admit the seriousness of this. They say that if you are pregnant you should NOT consider having amalgam fillings removed as the mercury is released at that time. I came down with a stinking cold 1 week after and I'm sure that's why.

Also salmon, Tuna and Swordfish may be worth avoiding.

Good luck!
