i think you should go to the doctor, not because of your headache but because you took medicines that could be potentially harmful to your baby.
when i was pregnant i was so careful that i even stopped using lotions and some make ups because its written on the warning label. And for every pain i feel i consult the doctor and have him give me something for comfort.

I really wouldn't worry too much about this. I had my first baby last year and had the very same symptoms around the same time too. They were awful and sometimes lingered on for hours on end or even there were times I would come home from work and have to go to bed for the night they were that bad. It was like migraine but it wasn't. Speak to your obstrcian but don't worry too much. They will pass. My pregnancy was normal and delivery was exact to the day so it had totally no bearing. Once I gave birth and during the first couple of weeks i had a lot of flashing lights from my eyes, some blank spots as well. I was concerned even to the fact that I had an MRI but it was all totally fine. Looking back now it was all related to hormones, the pregnancy and all the different body changes, not to mention tiredness when baby arrives.
Dont worry about it, it can be quite normal. Relax, enjoy your pregnancy and they will pass over in a couple of weeks, then it will be another symptom - the joys of pregnancy. Good luck.

It is very common for pregnancy to trigger headaches and migraines, panadol is OK to take but in moderation. But definitely mention it to your doctor. I was the opposite, I have always suffered a lot with headaches, and do get migraines, but pregnancy was the only time I didn't get them.

I went to see doctor last night. He has check blood pressure and its normal then there is no other causes of heachance he diagnosed as Mirgraine. I didn't had Mirgraine before pregnancy. He gave me capsule which containes paracetamol and told me take when necessory. he said if you get good night sleep you will feel better. my problem is last 4 or 5 night i am not getting good night sleep. during night I have to get up 3 t0 4 times and drink water since my throat gets dry and unable to breath and causes me get up. This dry throat problem is there almost more then one month and I have seen doctor 3 times but no cure for it. Any other ideas how to manage this headache its still there from last night and still have this morning.
your reply will be appreciated.

I have suffered with migraine on and off for many years but had not had one for ages. The first symptom that I was pregnant was a 3-day migraine. My doctor suspects it is caused by all the additional hormones. Panadol is fine in moderation, although for migraine it may not help that much.
My best advice is to lie in a dark, quiet room with no light at all if possible. Use an eye patch if you need to. If you feel sick, try and vomit as this often reduces the symptoms.
You may be able to try some pregnancy safe essential oils, but check forst if they are OK.

Hi medical-hk, congratulations on ur pregnancy!!! I just had my little monkey come out a month ago and every day, tough work but, can say that it was worth the pregnancy discomfort!!!
Did ur doctor do a blood test? i had severe headache from 14 weeks to the point that i threw up all the time. the reason was because i had extremely low iron supply level, please read iron supply and not iron level. i started taking materna and red meat and in 2 weeks time, it was manageable. I still had days where I needed panadol, my OB said completely safe for the baby with regular dosage. I still take a lot of red meat as it really helps me to keep in one piece.
BTW, how I found out about the low iron supply level was via a GP. My husband thought that I had head tumor or something as I was throwing up so we went to the GP who by chance had seen this happen to another pregnancy and immedeatly did a blood test. That's another idea for you!!
Another thing that the GP said later in the pregnancy( for prescription of panadol)was that lack of sleep is giving me a head ache as well, physically and emotionally, so try to take afternoon naps as much as you can. Even a short one will help.
Good luck!!!

I used to see a therapist, she did something called Integrative Manual Therapy on me. It was nice. My headache and back pain were gone. My pregnancy went well. You can give it a try.

dear Xshoequeen, I am getting again strong headache yesterday and took panadol it is bit better today I am entering in 18th week. Plus worst is cramps just above the ankle is more often now in these day. I guess I will go for Iran supply test. could you please advise me what is difference in Iron supply or Iron level test and what actual parameters they check in Iron supply. thanks

ow no medical-hk, u ok?
- go for a ferritin test. iron supply, accurately iron storage, indicator is called ferritin, opposed to when u go for a normal anemia test, they will concentrate on haemoglobin but, sometimes, the normal test will not show that there is something wrong with ur iron supply as the body will concentrate on keeping up the haemoglobin.
- as for the cramps, i do not know if it is related to this as i did not have cramps above my ankle but, i did have discomfort all over the place. It is so constraining isnt it???
- i really suggest you talk to ur OB about this. the doctor will be glad to know all about ur symptoms as it will give them more information about ur pregnancy + it will save you much emotional distress once you know black or white from a professional's mouth. Believe me, my OB was my counsellor as well but, he always did the magic, after every visit, I felt really stable.
