Hi. I was just diagnosed with high FSH prematurely young - it jumped dramatically in the course of one year and my fertility dr who I did 2 IUIs with last year dropped me like a hot potato. I have been reading up and understand that there is specific drs who are friendly to high FSh patients. Has anyone had an experience with one?

Hello SA,
I have the same problem you have in which I was diagnosed 7 yrs back when I was 29.I knew exactly how you felt for too young to have such condition. I was given a hormonal treatment, at the same time trying to have a fertility treatment. I suggest you go to an endocrinologist/fetility Dr first , they will help you a lot in dealing with premature ovarian failure .I don't know any endocrinologist here in HK as my Dr was not from here in HK. Dr. Philip Ho in Central was very good, approachable and the staff are helpful. He helped me a lot and I have 2 kids of my own now. Hope I have given you some help, there are lots of women facing this kind of problem as young as 20 yrs old. You need to have hormone therapy now as soon as you seen a Dr so you will not face the underlying effect of high FSH esp with your bones and heart. You need to start thinking high calcium diet as well.

Thanks for the reply Gerarni. Did you conceive your kids with Dr Ho through fertility treatment - IUI or IVF? Do you mind sharing numbers? Mine is currently 40+ tho I have been advised to get a second test as it was only borderline high as recently as one year ago.

Oh, mine was too high, it reach 103, 2nd test 97, then it was continuous monitoring until it was control by HT (hormone therapy). I went thru a lot of opinions from diff doc was desperate, until I was able to met this endocrinogist /fertility doc abroad who explained everything to me. I continued his tx until I came here to HK and explained everything to Dr. Philip and did the IVF. Yes you need to have a test and 2nd opinion if you can find a good specialist here. If you haven't done a hormone profile better do it, as it might be triggered with one hormone imbalance. Sorry I can't really recommend an expert but I went to Dr. Philip to help me with my fertility tx. And thanks God I was able to have kids.

Hi, Joyce, I know you are posting for Gerarni but just thought I'd ask you whether you are doing acupuncture for your fsh? I am and believe it does help. Which dr are you seeing who is going ahead with ivf?
