Hi Ladies,
Im wondering how to get my twins home from the hospital to DB? We dont have a car so I dont think we'll be investing in a stroller with the car seat/capsule function. Can I hire capsules?
How do others do this?
Thanks for your opinions.

I dont think car seats is adviasable. Newborn would be too small to put them on car seats/stroller. New Borns are very light and I but believe they are small, but varies.
I would suggest that you carry them with clean towel wrapping them. Get someone to hep you to carry your stuff and the other baby. Prior to that, someone should start bringing some of your belongs/gifts from hospital to home before you discharge. Otherwise, you will found that you will have lots of stuff on the day when you discharge.
Hope this helps.

OK I usually don't respond to many posts, but the one above is slightly ridiculous!!! First of all Newborns can go in car seats and strollers, how do you think most people function in the rest of the world when they have cars and places to go? They just don't wrap their newborns in towels and walk them to the doctor. Moggie, I would either do what Hen says and borrow carseats and a car, or get slings and have the babies comfortably in there and if you are driven home seat belt around you not both of you! Do you have any friends with cars or will at least come and help you bring all the stuff back home for you?

Newborns are very sensitive to pollution - this is to my opinions. What's wrong in wrapping newborns in towels (of course with their clothes as well) and walk them to the doctors?
What I meant was that car seat/stroller might be too spacious for newborns. And pushing them around may cause too much vibration.

Highlander, there are car seats which are for infants and they come with inserts so that the baby is snug, comfortable and cosy. Even strollers have bassinets attachments which are specifically meant for newborns ie they are flat and one can put towels/ bolsters next to the newborns so they don't get jostled around if the bassinet seems too spacious.

Moggie, we don't have a car either, but found the car seat to be really helpful specially since I end up taking taxis everywhere.

I would recommend infant car seats. The babies are basically lying down rather than sitting up in these infant car seats. Much safer than other ways of getting the babies home.
