I had a friend who is 8 months pregnant now ,she is thinking to put her baby into adoption ,it`s not an easy decision for her,but if ever someone is willing to adopt the baby, she wants to know the baby will be in good hands. Any advice for her, how to do with this ?does she needs to go to Social Welfare or contact directly to the people who wants to adopt? Is it a long process of documents if ever?
I noticed no one had post here like this in this forum, i hope for some good advice please, because she doesn`t know what to do.

you should go to the civil affairs bureau and undergo a legal procedure. they will have a strict supervision of the family that adopt the baby. directly to the people who wants to adopt, there is risks that the baby will be resold to others.

I see. It`s not good on the baby`s part if selling to others will happen. It`s illegal , right?and the future of the baby is unknown if he`ll be in good hands, quite scarry then.
Anyway, thanks for the advice.

All adoptions in Hong Kong are done through Social Welfare and are not sold and very very carefuly screened.
It is best if your friend calls Social Welfare and meets with them to discuss it. They want to be sure it is want she wants to do and will go over the procedure for her as well, will advise her of the procedure of the Adoptive parents.
We adopted our daughter here in Hong Kong and we know alot about the birth parents. So it is better for her to talk to them and give all the information required.
