Giving Birth at a Private Hospital or Public Hospital

Wondering if anyone could share their experiences in giving birth either in Private or in Public. I am thinking if I should have my baby at the Adventist Hospital or going Public at Queen Mary (if i will be taken care of the same way).


Tried asking the Private sector of Queen Mary and their charges seem higher than at the Adventist.


Also wondering if anyone could share how much they paid if they went Private, seeing if there would be a cheaper option to pick from. Although I live near the Airport.


Last is it better not to have the epidural when giving birth? I heard that just makes the labour process longer after having it?? Is that true?


Would really appreciate any advice or help i can get. Am due in April =)

Does anyone know if Discovery Bay falls under the QMH district? My wife got her letter from the DB doctor already, and she stated that QMH was the hospital assigned to DB....can anyone confirm?
