I am very interested to hear detailed feedback/experiences from patients who have seen Dr Rogers for their prenatal care and delivery, as I am also exploring the option to have him as my OBGYN.
Any information would be fantastic!
Thanks in advance

I don't have first hand experience, but a good friend had her first baby with him last year and is returning to him later this year to deliver number 2. She was happy with her experience and gives him positive feedback.

Hi OzyOS, have been exchanging OB-GYN experiences with my friends recently and found out one point that people thought great of me having Dr. Rogers as my OB.
I have been seeing him since I was 3 months pregnant with No.1 and will be delivering No.2 with him this year.
Point 1
Seems that his bed side manners are really wonderful compared to the other doctors. True with a lot of opinions that his check ups are on the dry side, meaning not commercial enough but, when it comes to delivery, he will pop in as much as he can and will make sure that things are going smoothly, even from the early stages of labor.
Point2
He is very pro-natural birth. He is pro-epidural as it saves energy of the mother for pushing and post partum. I had a long and really difficult time giving birth to No.1 and I just had a really bad 2 weeks post giving birth, so the first time I went in his office for confirmation of pregnancy with No.2, the first word I said was, "can I have elective c-section," his answer was, "let's see how you feel at 9 months, medically, I only want to opt to a c-section if the baby is too big for you or have complications."
Point3
He is really only focusing on the well being of the baby up to delivery and when the time comes, he is relaxed enough to take care of the stress of the whole family. My husband had a step by step instruction on what he should be doing.
episode: when I was cursing "just get that thing out," seriously, he got instructions up to the point where Dr. Rogers told him don't listen to what she says, just stay beside her, hold hands, tell her she could do it, if you find her screaming too abusive, just cup her mouth and tell her, the more she curses, the more it takes time.
Point4:
Not just the delivery, but also, he has the mother's recovery in mind as well. He understands how difficult it is after giving birth so he will send out instructions to the hospital staff on what needs to be done with you.
example : I lost quite an amount of blood post birth and what Dr. Rogers did was, since iron level means so much in post partum, recovery of tiredness, he ordered blood transfusion. My friend who was in the same situation only got medial attention to stop the bleeding and not the rest. Thanks to his decision, I was ok in a month where my friend is still suffering from low iron level.
Points that people dislike him
- he is too dry. It takes a while to get used to his style, he used to be teaching and not commercial practice so he will NOT entertain you. You have to ask.
- He does the minimum tests, which I like but, I can imagine that some people get worried when they compare check up notes.
- His 3D scanning skills are not the best. For No.1, I only have a 3D photo of her knee. But, I feel that it is really not important.
- His sense of humour could be offensive to some people but, i like it, he's blunt enough that I can be totally honest with him of my tinest worries.
- He forgets. He still cannot spell my name my it's ok, the reason is because he is focusing one by one and it's not about the detail, it's purely medical. When the time comes to delivery, he has a clear mind and suddenly remembers every detail so don't worry!!
Dr. Rogers has become more commercial this time than the 1st time. He even burns us CDs of the 2D scanning so that my husband can see it home, that is, if he manages and if he remembers but, hey ho, that's not crucial.
Hope this gave you an idea!!

Xshoequeen you are 100% right and couldn't say it better! I had #2 with Dr. Rogers, and I only have good things to say about him, although I totally agree with you, you just nail it! so funny about his 3D scanning skills I used to laugh at him hhahhahaahaha. The most important thing is that he listens to you, I had a tough experience with # 1 (i also thought of having a c-section w #2) but he was very calm about it and told me to wait and see how i was doing at the 9 month, and he did made sure all went very smoothly during delivery. Great guy. I will definetly go to him if i ever have a #3!
