After the 6 month placement and you have your appointment at the family court.....how long does the actual court process take? Couple hours? Or is it quick?

Inside the Court room, ours took maybe 10 minutes. When you arrive at the Court, there will be others families waiting as well. So it just depends how many families and if you are first, second,.....
