Wife is now 41 and I'm 45. HAve been tested and both all Ok but after over a year of trying still no success.

Not willing to go through IVF as the possible side-effects are too worrying. My wife's family has a history of depression so she has been advised not to do IVF.

We are both very healthy so not sure what to do now. Havent considered adopting at this stage but may have to if no joy soon.

Any advice appreciated

After the age of 40 fertility drops dramatically. Without assistance (not just IVF) the chance of conceiving normal is very small. Have a chat to your GP about options, but adoption is a realistic choice.
