Hello…
We have been trying to conceive for the past 2 years without any luck. I have done 2 rounds of Clomid with no success. I have had endless blood tests to the point bordering the ridiculous and I’m still none the wiser. I have been doing all this with my GP and so far has cost a small fortune..that wouldn’t matter so much if I felt I was getting somewhere.
Has anybody got any advice on what I should do next, should I just get myself an Obs/Gyne Dr.? if so, has anybody got referrals from their own personal experience
I am 43 so very aware my age could/is the issue
Thanks…

Start taking Vitamin D 5000ius twice a day for a month. Take magnesium and vitamin K2 plus a good multivitamin and mineral. If you have been following a low fat diet for years increase your virgin olive oil, butter and coconut oil intake. Have a 25 hydroxyvitamin D test (I know another test) after that month. Our vitamin D status and cholesterol levels are vital to our fertility.
Nothing to lose only health to gain!

Thanks for your reply Christeve.
Yep, done all the above and all the tests to go with it but nothing......it just feels like my GP wants to fill me with vitamins and then endless blood tests (some of which had to be sent to the UK???) but not offering any other advice on where we go from here? So do I ditch the GP and find a fertility Dr. and if so who?

I recommmend you go and see a fertility expert. Unfort yes it is going to cost a lot of money but you dont have time on your side. One of the best people in Hk is DR Haines you can see him at Lucy Lords practice he mainlyworks out of Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin and he is prob one of the more reasonably priced Dr's. Dr Ghosh is anothher great problem solver , he is in the Bank of America building, Admiralty. Then there is Dr Doo a great fertility specialist but from past cpeoples opinion he is great for the the IVF/fertility side rather than problem solving and finding out what the cause is. All numbers are below for you.
Dr Haines (Lucy Lords Practice in CTRL 2824 0822)
Dr Ghosh 2877 3118
Dr Doo 2523 3007

Hi Pinky67
I'm sorry to hear you're going through this too :( It's draining, emotionally and on the bank account!
My advice... definitely go to see a fertility specialist. they will be able to run specific tests (your tubes, your partner's sperm, etc) and if you go down the route of IVF, after the first cycle they can give you even more information on whether there's a particular point in the conception that is not working (eg your eggs, the actual ferilistation, the emobryo growing, genetics impantation, etc).
Plus, as you say, you don't have time on your side. GPs are great, but they don't do this every day, and blood tests can only tell you so much.
The other thing you may want to consider if accupuncture. In less than a few mins, my accupuncturist told me health symptoms that doctors did tests for!
Hope this helps, any questions - feel free to send me a mail.
Good luck, and please let us know what you decide to do!
