Hello, we have just been matched with a little girl and I would really like to read some books about making the transition as easy as possible - the little girl is 2.5 years old and very timid - does anyone have any books then no longer want/need that I can buy? They're all extremely expensive online. Thank you, Alex

Congratulations on your adoption. Books can be expensive but some of the HK public libraries have books on adoption available. Also mother's choice lends books to adoptive parents, one does not need to have been their client. The website of adoptive families of Hong Kong lists a number of useful refernce books AFHK.org.hk. There are also many free podcasts available to listen online or download. Check creatingafamily.org. they do a weekly radio show that covers every imaginable topic. You can get lots of help form the 2 locally based adoptive parents organisations AFHK, an english speakng group & Happy Parents a cantonese speaking group. AFHK have a facebook page that lists lots of great links & also events held in HK to create opportunities for adoptive families to get together & have fun & also to support adoptive familes & adoptees
